MILFORD – James Finney, 29 of Milford, was arrested by the Milford Police Department’s Patrol Division April 14 for assault and endangering the welfare of a child among other charges in the SITEL parking lot.
Officers responded to the domestic incident at approximately 8:58 p.m. that evening. The person who made the initial call to the police advised they saw a male subject assaulting a female subject in the parking lot.
Upon responding to the scene and making contact with the victim, the victim alleged that the suspect, Finney, did hit her several times in the head while she was on the ground with his hands, according to Det. Timothy Maloney. The victim sustained injury from the assault and was transported to Bayhealth’s Milford Memorial Hospital for treatment of her injuries. Two children were present when the incident occurred.
Finney was taken into custody and charged with assault in the third degree, disorderly conduct and two counts of endangering the welfare of a child witnessed sight or sound. Finney was arraigned through Justice of the Peace Court 7 and released on $2,000 unsecured bail with a no contact order with the victims. Finney was ordered to appear at a later date in Kent County Court of Common Pleas.
