MILFORD — Officers from the Milford Police Department responded to a residence in Bright Way Commons Apartment Complex March 8 at around 9:35 p.m. to a complaint of criminal mischief, according to Pfc. Mikhail Stanton.
Officers made contact with the victim who stated that Martisia Gibbs, 48 of Milford, allegedly threw a glass bottle at their residence which caused a window to break. After further investigation, Officers found that the victim told Gibbs several times that they did not want contact with her, but Gibbs refused to comply. Officers attempted to locate the suspect, but she had left the scene prior to their arrival.
Within a few hours, Milford Police received another call from the victim alleging that Gibbs came back to the residence and threw another glass bottle, breaking another window. A warrant was obtained for Gibbs as a result of these two incidents.
The Georgetown Police Department made contact with Gibbs March 14 and placed her in custody due to her outstanding warrants. She was transported to Milford Police Department and charged with two count of criminal mischief and one count of harassment.
Gibbs was arraigned at the Justice of The Peace Court 2 and held on a $1500 secured bail. She was also found to have capiases out of Sussex County Court of Common Pleas and Family Court which she was arraigned and held on $48,095 cash bail and $119 secured bail. Martisia Gibbs was transported to the Sussex Correctional Institution.
