Wednesday, Aug. 10

Annual Clothing and School Uniform Giveaway: 4-7 p.m., Felton Viola United Methodist Church. A new school uniform shirt will be given to each Lake Forest student in the family while supplies last.  Used school uniform shirts and pants will also be available in most sizes. Used clothing for men, women, and children will be given away as well. Donations of gently used school uniforms and children’s clothing are still being accepted. Dover/Kent County Metropolitan Planning Organization’s Technical Advisory Committee meeting: 10 a.m., 1783 Friends Way, Camden Town Hall. Long-range and shorter-term transportation plans, plus population projections and air quality funding are on the August agenda. This meeting is open to the public, which is encouraged to attend. USA Dance Dover practice sessions in ballroom and rhythm: 7-8:30 p.m., Camden Wyoming Moose Lodge, 760 Moose Lodge Road, near Wyoming. Practice sessions will feature East Coast Swing and Bachata practice for all levels from 7-8 p.m. From 8-8:30 p.m. music for various dances will be provided. Experienced dancers will be on hand. Friday, Aug. 12

USA Dance Dover DE ballroom dance: 8-11 p.m., Camden Wyoming Moose Lodge, 760 Moose Lodge Road, near Wyoming. Everyone is welcome. No partner or experience is needed. The cost is $10 per person for USA Dance members and $12 per person for non-members (pay at the door). One need not be a Moose Lodge member to attend. Saturday, Aug. 13

Farmers Market Studio with Rosemary Connelly: 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., Mispillion Art League, Milford. Come early and shop at the Milford Farmers’ Market.  Bring your purchases to the gallery and MAL will help arrange a composition to paint.  Fun for beginners, but open to all levels of experience.  All supplies provided. $35 members. $45 non-members. Group ballroom and rhythm dance lessons: 7 p.m. beginner East Coast Swing class, 8 p.m. intermediate Bachata class, Camden Wyoming Moose Lodge, 760 Moose Lodge Road, near Wyoming. Taught by professional dance instructor, Barbara McDonald, from Barbara’s Dance Academy in Dover. $5 Movies at Riverfront Theater (MaRT) – “Raiders of the Lost Ark”: 7:30 p.m., Riverfront Theater, Milford. Spanish soundrack. Presented by Milford Second Street Players – sponsored by Delaware Division of the Arts. The film is sponsored by First State Manufacturing.

Run the Goat Again 5K: 6:45 p.m., Arena’s Restaurant, 200 N.E. Front St., Milford. There is also a free Running of the Kids K for ages 10 and under.  Proceeds go to the Greater Milford Boys and Girls Club.  Come in your favorite “goat” costume. Registration is available at www.races2run.com until Thursday prior to the run, and will open at 5:30 p.m. the day of the race. Cost is $25 in advance and $30 on race day.

Friday, Aug. 26

Sunset cruises to benefit Food Bank of Delaware: 7-10 p.m., 213 Wyatt Avenue, Bowers Beach. Captain’s Lady Charters is partnering with the food bank to offer the cruise. Tickets are $30 per person per ride and include light fare prepared by students from The Culinary School at the Milford Branch and tastings from local breweries, wineries or distilleries.
