SLIDESHOW: Milford Housing Development Corporation Fall Festival 2016

MILFORD – The Milford Housing Development Corporation brought out some of their best Saturday afternoon for its fifth annual fall festival.

Children of all ages bounced around in a bounce house and a mini-obstacle course after playing games organized by MHDC staff and volunteers.

Lollipop the Clown turned many of the same children into their favorite characters with face paints all afternoon.

But games and face painting was trumped for many festival goers by hayrides and a chance to drive heavy equipment used on many of the homes built by new homeowners through MHDC’s programs.

In 2015 alone, the MHDC helped 182 families. Over 30 homes were in construction throughout the year and 140 home repairs completed.

What contributed to its success? Volunteers with more than 300 offering over 5,000 volunteer hours last year.

The organization also owns 14 affordable rental apartment complexes in the area.
