One of the festival’s new events, the Shipbuilder River Race starts at 9 a.m. and is hosted by Downtown Milford, Inc., and the City of Milford Parks and Recreation Department. There will be two races – a three mile and and eight mile – with kayaks, double kayaks, canoe and paddle boards. Both races will start together. All paddlers must provide their own kayak, canoe or SUP. The courses are out and back, however race finish is approximately a third of a mile west of the start line towards town. The finish line is directly under the pedestrian bridge over the Mispillion River.

The entry fee is $25 per paddler. Paddlers should drop off their equipment by the boat ramp but should park directly across the street at the old Growmark building. Please note that all access ways to the Police Department must remain clear at all times.

There will be an awards ceremony held at approximately 1 p.m. at the Vinyard Ship Yard at 6 Columbia Street in one of the out buildings.
