Grier will not run for another Milford council term

Dear Residents and Business Owners in the City of Milford:

25mc council_grierI want to take this opportunity to thank Milford residents, members of City Council and City staff for having the pleasure to serve as one of the ls Ward Council Representatives over the past six years. Due to work obligations and my desire to spend more time with my wife and daughter, I have decided not to run for another term on Milford City Council.

I feel so fortunate to have had the opportunity to represent my constituents as their council person in a community where I was born and raised. Over that six years, I am proud of how far this city has come. To be part of the future planning of a town you love is extremely rewarding.

It is with confidence that I leave behind a Council that is full of members who care deeply about the future of this community and who come to work on Monday nights with the best interest of the City at heart. While I have leamed a great deal about business, politics, municipal government and life in general during my six years in this position, those valuable lessons will be used as I continue to develop as a father, husband, business owner and community member.

In closing, I sincerely encourage our residents to become involved in the many events and organizations this great community has to offer. Public service may be something you have never really considered and I especially want to encourage our younger citizens to give it a shot. It is easy to stand on the sidelines and give input, but you can really make a difference by taking on a leadership role and simply getting involved.

Sincerely yours,
GarrettL. Grier III
1rst Ward Council Representative
