Milford couple, teen arrested on child abuse charges

MILFORD – A Milford couple has been arrested on child abuse charges after an investigation revealed a 2-year-old suffered numerous injuries including a vast amount of burns.

The Milford Police Criminal Division arrested and charged the couple April 12 after incidents that allegedly occurred during the month of April at a residence located in the 100 block of West. St.

Bridget M. Sauls, 56, and Ivray L. Sauls, Sr, 57, were both charged with child abuse in the second degree and endangering the welfare of a child. According to police, the investigation revealed  that the 5-year-old and 2 -year-old victims resided in the residence with Sauls and Sauls, Sr.

It was also revealed that the 2-year-old had not been given the proper hygiene care and had suffered numerous injuries. Both Sauls and Sauls, Sr. were arraigned and released on $3,000.00 unsecured bond.

A 17-year-old female also residing at the residence was charged with child abuse in the first degree for shoving the 2-year-old into a heater. She was arraigned and released on $3,900.00 unsecured bond.
