Milford juvenile charged for having stolen firearm

MILFORD – A 15-year-old male was arrested by the Milford Police Department April 13 after discovering a fully loaded stolen firearm in his waistband.

Milford police officers responded to the S. Washington Street and SE Front Street area after received a report of school aged children riding bikes and not being in school during normal school hours.

Upon arriving to the area, Milford police officers made contact with the juvenile and an 18-year-old male. After further investigation, it was revealed that the juvenile provided a false name to officers as well as having the fully loaded stolen firearm in his possession. He also allegedly had three fully loaded handgun magazines.

He had active capiases out of both Kent and Sussex County Family Courts. He was charged with possession of a firearm by a prohibited juvenile, carrying a concealed deadly weapon (a firearm), receiving a stolen firearm and two counts of criminal impersonation.

The male juvenile was later arraigned and committed to The Stevenson House Detention Center in default of $4,500.00 secured bond.
