Milford man arrested following drug investigation

artisMILFORD – Jimmy F. Artis, Jr., 28 of Milford, was arrested Sept. 5 following an investigation into drug sales.

The Milford Police Department’s Drugs, Vice, and Organized Crime Unit conducted the investigation. Warrants were obtained and on file as a result of this investigation.

Officers assigned to the Patrol Division were in the downtown area Sept. 5 when they observed Artis. He was taken into custody without incident.

Artis has been charged with two counts of manufacturing, delivering or possessing with the intent to deliver a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia.

He was arraigned at the Justice of the Peace Court #3 in Georgetown where bail was set at $200 unsecured on the possession of drug paraphernalia charge and  $40,000 cash only on the two counts of manufacturing, delivering or possessing with the intent to deliver a controlled substance.

Artis has been committed to the Sussex Correctional Institution and is scheduled to appear at the Kent County Court of Common Pleas Sept. 9 for a Preliminary Hearing.
