Milford man arrested for harassing tenant

MILFORD – David Kenton, 71 of Milford, has been charged with harassment by the Milford Police Department, according to Pfc. Mikhail Stanton.

Police received a harassment complaint from a victim July 11 alleging that Kenton, their landlord, sent multiple text messages to them requesting they “go out with him on a date,” according to the Milford Police Department.

The victim stated each time they refused, Kenton threatened to evict them and would put a note of eviction on their door. After further investigation of the matter, police found probable cause to request an arrest warrant and obtained one from the Justice of the Peace Court 2.

David Kenton turned himself in July 26 to the Milford Police Department without incident. He was charged with harassment and presented at the Justice of the Peace Court 2 where his bail was set at $500 unsecured. He was also given a no contact order with the victim. He is scheduled to appear at the Sussex Court of Common Pleas Aug. 27.
