Daniel J. Elliot allegedly knocked on the victim’s door at 3:30 a.m. June 19 and was let in by the victim as he was familiar with Elliot.

As the two began to talk, officers say the victim turned his back on Elliot to look inside his refrigerator and provide Elliot with a beverage. Elliot then struck the victim in the back of the head with a metal cane and began punching him. A short time later, Elliot allowed another unknown male into the residence of the victim.

Both Elliot and the unknown male removed the victim’s property from the residence and fled.

The victim was transported to the Milford Bayhealth Hospital where he was treated for injuries to his head and torso, and later released.

On June 20, Elliot was charged with robbery in the degree, possession of a deadly weapon during the commission of a felony, conspiracy in the second degree and assault in the third degree. Elliot was arraigned and committed to SCI in default of $21,500.00 secured bond.
