Milford man charged after strangling woman

MILFORD – A 37-year-old female victim suffered minor injuries after being strangled by 33-year-old Charles Jamesly of Milford, according to the Milford Police Department.

Jamesly was arrested shortly after a domestic incident occurring at a residence located in the 100 block of North. St. March 31. An investigation revealed that Jamesly was involved in a verbal dispute with the 37-year-old female victim, according to police.

During the dispute, Jamesly allegedly began kicking the female victim in the stomach. As the female victim attempted to leave out of the door to the residence, he closed the door refusing to allow the female victim to leave. Police say Jamesly threatened to kill the female victim, threw her to the ground and began to strangle her.

The female victim was able free herself and contact the Milford Police. She suffered minor injuries as a result, but refused medical treatment.

He was charged with aggravated menancing, strangulation, unlawful imprisonment in the second degree, terroristic threatening and offensive touching. Charles was arraigned and committed to SCI in default of $12,500.00 secured bond.
