Milford planning commission vice chair files for vacant ward 2 council seat

Andrew and Amanda Fulton

MILFORD – Andrew Paul Fulton, Vice Chairman of the City of Milford Planning and Zoning Commission, filed to run for the recently vacated Ward 2 Council seat June 8.

Fulton was raised as an Air Force dependent for his first 17 years until enlisting in the United States Navy. After enlisting in the service, he spent the next 30 years serving in the military retiring as a Master Chief Petty Officer.  While in the service he always found time to volunteer in the community when not deployed, ultimately finding a second career as a public servant and Paramedic.

Fulton returned to his wife’s, Amanda, hometown of Milford upon retiring from the Navy and is employed as a Paramedic in Caroline County, Maryland. The passion to improve the quality of life in Milford led Fulton to a City of Milford’s Planning and Zoning Commission appointment more than three years ago.  He was elected Vice Chairman of the Planning and Zoning Commission by his fellow Commissioners in 2017.  Fulton is also an active member of St. John the Apostle Church, serving his time on the Parish Council, Safety Committee, and Knights of Columbus, of which he became President in 2016.

Fulton is in full support of attracting young, professional families to reside in the Milford community and the means in which to make that happen.  He will problem solve uses for vacant and/or abandoned property, while promoting business growth and new recreation ideas for school-aged children.  He will insure the City of Milford is fiscally accountable and supports Milford’s current and future public safety efforts.  With four of his five children graduating from Milford High School, Fulton will seek alternative methods for the City to support the Milford School District.

Fulton and Amanda have five children: Noelle, Molly, Andrew Jr., Aaron, and Laura. Noelle lives in Hawaii with her husband, Brian, who is a Gysgt in the Marine Corps with three children: Arabelle, Gracie, and Lily. Molly, a 2016 MHS graduate, currently attends the University of Delaware, Andrew Jr., a 2018 MHS graduate, will be attending Delaware Technical Community College in the Fall, Aaron is a current MHS student, and Laura attends Milford Central Academy.

To support the community and his fellow Ward 2 residents, Fulton is open to active communication, so voters can reach him at or on Facebook at

The city of Milford Ward 2 Special Election will be held on Thursday, August 23.
