MILFORD – Three Milford residents were taken into custody Jan. 10 at approximately 6 a.m. when officers assigned to the Milford Police Department’s Special Operations Group executed a search warrant at an apartment at 10 Northwest Front. Street along Rt. 14, according to Sgt. Robert Masten.

This search warrant concluded a one-month investigation by the Milford Police Department’s Drug Unit into illegal drug sales. The search warrant resulted in the seizure of heroin, drug paraphernalia and money. The approximate street value of the seized heroin is $100,000.00. Milford residents 46-year-old Marvin D. Spady, 29-year-old Jennifer Sparacio and 55-year-old Orlando C. Pettyjohn were taken into custody.

Spady has been charged with possession with the intent to deliver a controlled substance, possesses a controlled substance in a tier 5 quantity and possession of drug paraphernalia. He was presented at the Justice of the Peace Court #2, where bail was set at $43,500 secured.  Spady is scheduled to appear at the Kent County Court of Common Pleas January 19 for a preliminary hearing.

Sparacio has been charged with possession with the intent to deliver a controlled substance, possesses a controlled substance in a tier 5 quantity, possession of drug paraphernalia and breach of release. She was presented at the Justice of the Peace Court #2, where bail was set at $44,500. Sparacio is scheduled to appear at the Kent County Court of Common Pleas January 19 for a preliminary hearing.

Pettyjohn has been charged with possession of drug paraphernalia. He was issued a criminal summons and released and is scheduled to appear at the Justice of the Peace Court #6 for an arraignment January 30.

Both Spady and Sparacio have been committed to the custody of the Delaware Department of Correction at the Sussex Correctional Institution.  The Milford Police Department’s Drug Unit was assisted with this investigation by the Delaware State Police Kent County Drug Unit.
