Milford Rotary Club to honor heroes

MILFORD – The Milford Rotary Club is pleased to announce that it will once again sponsor Flags for Heroes, a national program to honor our country’s heroes and the heroes in our lives.

Flags will be on display at Bicentennial Park in downtown Milford from May 23 through June 6.

Anyone may honor a hero by sponsoring a flag for $50. The name of the hero, selected by the sponsor, will accompany each flag. The hero can be a veteran, an active member of the military, a first responder or anyone the sponsor considers to be a hero in his or her life.

Sponsorship forms can be obtained from any Milford Rotarian or by contacting Kaye Norenberg at knorenberg@gmail.com. Proceeds from the project will be used by The Milford Rotary Club for its community projects.

In 2014-2015, The Milford Rotary Club sponsored four college scholarships of $1,000 to $2,000, as well as contributions to The Mispillion Art League, Milford Food Pantry, Milford High School Music Department, and the City of Milford Parks and Recreation.

It is the goal of the Milford Rotary Club to continue to make Milford a great place to live. Please join us by sponsoring a flag for a hero in your life.
