Milton man arrested after displaying gun in Milford apartment complex

MILFORD – A 19-year-old Milton man was arrested and charged June 25 after allegedly pointing a handgun at several victims in the Mispillion Apartment Complex.

Thadius I. Johnson was charged with three counts of aggravated menacing, conspiracy in the second degree, three counts of reckless endangering in the second degree, resisting arrest, possession of drug paraphernalia and disorderly conduct.

At 12:02 pm June 25, officers from the Milford Police Department responded to the Mispillion Apartment Complex after receiving a report of a man with a handgun running in the parking lot of the complex displaying the handgun towards several adults and children. Police later identified the man as Johnson.

Police established a perimeter and searched for Johnson after he was last seen fleeing to the rear of the complex as officers arrived. With the assistance of the Delaware State Police Aviation Unit and DSP K9 Unit, Milford Police located Johnson hiding inside of a bush next to an apartment building within the complex. Johnson was then taken into custody without incident.

Johnson was also found to be in possession of drug paraphernalia used to consume heroin. After further investigation, Milford Police also arrested and charged a 26-year-old Delmar woman for her connection to this incident. Victoria M. Bolen was charged with conspiracy in the second degree, hindering prosecution and possession of drug paraphernalia.

According to officers, Bolen had been in the company of Johnson during the incident. Bolen allegedly attempted to provide police with false information regarding Johnson as he was attempting to flee and hide from police.

Bolen was also found to be in possession of drug paraphernalia used to consume heroin. Johnson was wanted on six active capiases out of Sussex County Family Court and Sussex County Court of Common Pleas. She was arraigned and committed to SCI in default of $30,697.00 secured bond. Bolen was arraigned and released on $3,200.00 unsecured bond.
