People’s Place recognizes volunteers at breakfast

MILFORD — The People’s Place Annual Breakfast was held on May 18 at the Milford Senior Center.

Ninety-four guests consisting of People’s Place staff, board members, elected officials, local business members and other non-profit organizations were in attendance at this year’s event.

People’s Place Executive Director, Del Failing, presented an overview of the agency and reviewed the most recent Annual Report figures during the morning program. He also acknowledged the non-profit is celebrating its 40th year of incorporation.

The Annual Breakfast also provides the opportunity for the agency to present their Employee and Rookie of the Year awards, as well as their Community Supporters and Volunteers of the Year.

The following awardees were recognized for their outstanding service:

  • Employee of the Year — Jennifer Delice from the SAFE Program
  • Rookie of the Year — Karinne Lemmon from the SAFE Program • Rookie of the Year — Nikki Sherman from the Independent Living Program
  • Volunteer of the Year — Rich ard Moore, Mediator at the Center for Community Justice Program
  • Volunteer of the Year — Jocelyn Kraft, 6th grader and Milford resident
  • Volunteer of the Year — Pastor Richie Portalatin from the Multi- Cultural Church -Community Center
  • Group Volunteer of the Year — Keith Mosher and Help-Portrait Southern Delaware members
