Two Milford men charged after assaulting a man with a glass bottle

MILFORD – Two men from Milford were arrested and charged May 31 after a domestic assault occurring at a residence in the 400 block of Carlisle Lane.

Louis Rodriguez, 32, was charged with assault in the second degree and conspiracy in the second degree. Jacob Morgan, 21, was charged with offensive touching and conspiracy in the second degree.

An investigation revealed that both Rodriguez and Morgan were involved in a verbal dispute with a 36-year-old male victim. As the male victim attempted to talk to Rodriguez, Morgan walked up behind him in an attempt to punch him from behind. The victim then turned around and grabbed Morgan, attempting to get him to stop.

As he did so, Rodriguez struck the male victim in the back of the head with a glass whiskey bottle. Morgan then punched the male victim several times. The male victim suffered head injuries and was transported to Milford Bayhealth Hospital where he was treated and later released.

Morgan was also transported to Milford Bayhealth Hospital after suffering a upper extremity injury during the attack. He also was treated and later released. Morgan was arraigned and released on $1,250.00 unsecured bond. Rodriguez was arraigned and committed to SCI in default of $2,000.00 secured bond.
