Milford man arrested for tampering with ex-girlfriend’s brakes

MILFORD – On July 5, the Milford Police Department arrested and charged a 41-year-old Milford man for allegedly tampering with his ex-girlfriend’s brakes.

According to Det. Dwighj-gustavet Young, Jean Gustave was charged with first degree reckless endangering, and criminal mischief less than $1,000.

Det. Young said that an investigation revealed that after a romantic relationship with a 39-year-old woman ended on June 29, Mr. Gustave unscrewed screws out of the rear brake calipers on the female victim’s vehicle without her knowing.

“The female victim did not discover the damage to the vehicle until after she attempted to drive the vehicle. Gustave had also stated that he would do more damage to the female victim’s vehicle the next time,” Det. Young said.

Mr. Gustave was arraigned and released on $5,100 unsecured bond.
