MAGNOLIA, Del. – Denzel D. Braker, 20 of Dover, was taken into custody by the U.S. Marshall’s Fugitive Task Force on Monday, Dec. 28 and turned over to detectives at Troop 3.

He was charged with Assault 1st Degree, Assault 2nd Degree, Possession of a Deadly Weapon during the Commission of a Felony and four counts of Reckless Endangering 1st Degree. He was arraigned at JP 2 before being committed to James T. Vaughn Correctional Center on $127,500.00 cash bond.

Troopers Seek Public’s Help in Locating Shooting Suspect

MAGNOLIA, Del. – Delaware State Police detectives are asking for the public’s assistance in locating a male suspect who shot one man and assaulted another in an incident that occurred Saturday night.

The initial investigation has determined that the incident occurred at approximately 8:50 p.m. on Saturday, June 13 after Denzel D. Braker, 19 of Dover, responded to a home in the 300 block of Marshview Terrace in Magnolia.

Upon arrival at the residence, where numerous people were present for a party, Braker allegedly became involved in an altercation with a 20-year- man from Magnolia.

During the altercation, Braker allegedly produced a handgun and proceeded to assault the male victim with it. Braker then allegedly used the gun to shoot a 30-year-old Dover man in a lower extremity before fleeing the area in a gold Chevrolet Suburban bearing DE registration PC419746.

The 20-year-old Magnolia man refused treatment at the scene, however, later responded to a local hospital for treatment for his non-life-threatening injuries. The 30-year-old victim was removed from the scene by EMS and transported to a local hospital where he was treated for his non-life-threatening injuries.

Delaware State Police detectives have obtained warrants charging Denzel Braker with Assault 1st Degree, Assault 2nd Degree, Possession of a Deadly Weapon during the Commission of a Felony and four counts of Reckless Endangering 1st Degree. Braker is described as a black male. He is 5’10” tall, 140 lbs. with black hair and brown eyes.

Anyone who may know the location of Denzel Braker is asked not to approach him but to call 9-1-1 immediately as he is considered armed and dangerous.
