Milford man arrested for sexual assault of a child

m-moralesMILFORD – On June 25, the Milford Police Department Criminal Division concluded a month-long investigation with the arrest of a 23-year-old Milford man in sexual assault charges.

According to Det. Dwight Young, Meir Morales was charged with two counts of fourth degree rape, two counts of second degree unlawful sexual contact, endangering the welfare of a child with child as sexual assault victim and sexual solicitation.

Detectives discovered that on different occasions Mr. Morales allegedly encouraged a female victim to engage in sexual acts with him by communicating with the victim in person, through a video gaming system and through obscene drawings.

According to police, the two engaged in sexual acts numerous times at two different residences between 2008 and 2010 when the victim was between the ages of 7 and 9 years old.

Mr. Morales was arraigned and committed in default of $16,500 secured bond.
