Milford police seize marijuana, heroin during arrests

A month long investigation by the Milford Police Department Drugs and Narcotics Division culminated into the arrest of 43-year-old Lanier L. Wheatherly and 34-year-old Lauren E. Merchant, both of Milford, Thursday, Feb. 18.

The pair were charged with possession of both marijuana and heroin with the intent to deliver, endangering the welfare of a child, conspiracy in the second degree and possession of drug paraphernalia.

With the assistance of the Dover Police Department Drug Unit, Milford police executed search warrants Thursday, Feb. 18 on a vehicle and at a residence located in the 6000 block of Pine Tree Lane in Milford.

Milford police seized 86 bags of heroin and 79.3 grams of marijuana along with digital scales and more than $2,400 in cash. An 11-year-old child had also been residing at the home.

Wheatherly was arraigned and committed to SCI in default of $23,500 cash bond. Merchant was arraigned and committed to WCI in default of $23,500 cash bond.
