Troopers investigate three vehicle crash north of Frederica

FREDERICA – Troopers are investigating a three vehicle crash that occurred early Sunday evening north of Frederica.

The incident occurred around 7:45 p.m. Sunday Jan. 31 as Raed S. Mesilus, 27 of Laurel, was operating a 2007 Honda Accord northbound on Bay Road (US113/SR1) just north of North Frederica Rd. For unknown reasons, he crossed over the center median and entered into the southbound lanes.

Michael D. Lue, 28 of Chesapeake, VA, was operating a 2013 Chrysler Town and Country and Ralph E. Seward, 43 of Milford, was operating a 2003 Saturn Vue southbound on SR1 when the Accord crossed into their lanes, striking both vehicles.

Mr. Mesilus was properly restrained and was transported to Bayhealth Kent General Hospital (KGH) where he was admitted with undetermined injuries. Charges are pending his release for his third driving under the influence offense, two counts of vehicular assault in the second degree, failure to have insurance in possession and failure to remain within a single lane.

Mr. Lue was properly restrained and transported to Bayhealth Milford Memorial Hospital with undetermined injuries.

Mr. Seward was properly restrained and transported to KGH where he was treated for undetermined injuries.

Route one southbound was closed at Barratts Chapel Rd. for approximately two hours while the crash was investigated and cleared.
