Dennehy big winner in Milford School Board elections

MILFORD — Kristin Yvette Dennehy is a lot happier this week than she was this time last week. Tonight voters in the Milford School District elected her as the newest member of the Milford School Board.

With 66.67 percent of the vote, Mrs. Dennehy will take the five-year at large seat at the district’s upcoming organization meeting.

Ms. Dennehy was a driving member of the group Buccaneer Tomorrow, which was formed to help the school district educate voters about its recent referendum effort. Which voters rejected last Tuesday, May 5.

Three candidates went after the seat – Kent Delrossi earned 44 votes; Mrs. Dennehy received 386 votes and Ronald T. Evans Jr. got 149 votes, according to the Kent County Elections Department.

A total of 571 voters went to the polls today.

The votes will be made official in about 24 hours.
