The first incident occurred on Wednesday, Jan. 27 while a  juvenile waited for the bus at a residence on Staytonville Rd. in Lincoln.  The juvenile alleged that an unshaven white male who was possibly in his 40s with brown hair wearing a black coat stopped in the area of the house and asked the student if they “needed a driver.”

The juvenile reported that the vehicle was a white minivan similar to a 2003 White Ford Windstar.  The same white vehicle was observed by two other juveniles at nearby bus stops.  That particular incident is being investigated by the Delaware State Police.

The second incident occurred on Saturday, Jan 3

0 in the Milford Commons shopping center off of Rt. 113.  This incident involved an older model white minivan, possibly a Dodge Caravan, where a white male in his 30s attempted to solicit a juvenile out of a vehicle they were seated in alone and into his.

The third incident occurred on Tuesday, Feb. 9 at approximately 3:40 p.m. when a juvenile was getting off of the bus in the area of Lakeview Ave. and Hall Place. Allegedly, a tan older model Ford Windstar van operated by a white female with another white female passenger, pulled up to the juvenile and asked the child to meet them down the roadway by the old Milford Middle School.

A witness reported seeing the van stop and talk to the juvenile and then drive off slowly.  The witness believes the van had out of state white registration, possibly Maryland.  All three suspect vehicles look similar in color and body style, with the exception that the victims are reporting possible different makes and models.

We urge parents and children to be aware while outside and please report anything suspicious to the Milford Police Department or any agency where these vehicles may be spotted.  Anyone with information regarding the incidents are asked to call 302.422.8081 or Crime Stoppers at 1.800.TIP.3333.  Tips can also be submitted to our MyPD App, Facebook, or Twitter at @MilfordPoliceDE.
