Local teen wins new boat

MILFORD – A 16-year-old boy from Milford was the grand-prize winner in the Paradise Bay Flounder Tournament sponsored by Paradise Marina and Short’s Marine.

Keith Stevenson caught a 4.3 pound fish that proved to be worth more than $23,000. His prize was a new 2018 Bennington Pontoon boat with a Yamaha motor. This was the 3rd annual Paradise Bay tournament held to give everyone, including kids, kayakers, boaters and fisherman a shot at winning.

Part of the proceeds were donated to the Oak Orchard Boys & Girls Club. The next local tournament, The Flounder Pounder Open, is the world’s largest flounder fishing tournament and takes place Aug. 15–19.

It is also sponsored by Paradise Marina and Short’s Marine. Prizes for this tournament total $235,000. Registration takes place now through August 12. For more information visit www.flounderpounderopen.com or call 945-4500, ext. 5.
