Worried about alcoholic attractions

Wendy Carlino Vezmar Welfley

“Brewgrass Festival,” “Red, White and Brew” …recently I am seeing so many people celebrating beer here in Milford that it is becoming a great concern for me.

I have seven grandchildren living here in Milford and I know that, regardless of what the advertisements advise, not all people “drink responsibly.”

Innocent young children on bikes are killed all the time by people who choose not to “drink responsibly”. Is this how we teach our children about the dangers of alcohol? By having “beer festivals?”

Teenagers want to be grown up so they imitate the grown-ups in their lives, don’t they? We have lost several Milford teenagers in fatal alcohol related accidents, and there will probably be more. Please, God, don’t let it be one of mine. I would love to see more parents taking a stand against alcohol of any kind in order to protect our children.
